Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Monthly ($49/month) and Yearly ($199/year) are subscriptions and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel, so your access does not lapse in the middle of an interview cycle. Credit packs are a one-time payment and never renew — their credits never expire. Your Settings › Billing page always shows which you hold and the exact date of your next charge.

Cancel any time from Settings › Billing — one click, no email and no waiting on support. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: you keep full access until that date, nothing is removed at the moment you cancel, and you are not charged again. If you change your mind before that date, you can resume from the same page.

We retry the payment for up to 14 days and your Billing page tells you it has failed. Your access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for — the retries do not extend it — so if a retry succeeds you will not notice anything happened. If none succeeds, your plan ends and your account moves to the Free plan. The usual cause is an expired card. You can also cancel during the retries to stop them.

PhantomCodeAI is the real-time, all-in-one AI interview copilot for software engineers. The desktop app (macOS Apple Silicon & Intel, plus Windows) listens to your interviewer live and helps across every kind of interview — coding (DSA, LeetCode, system design, SQL), behavioral, HR, and online assessments — on HackerRank, CodeSignal, CoderPad, Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, with an undetectable overlay that does not appear on screen-share.

Yes. PhantomCodeAI is designed to be invisible to screen-sharing and screen-recording software. It runs as an overlay that cannot be captured by tools like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or any proctoring software. It does not appear on your dock or in Activity Monitor.

Simply take a screenshot of your coding problem using the app's hotkey. The AI analyzes the problem — whether it's DSA, system design, SQL, or conceptual — and generates a complete solution with approach explanation, optimized code, and complexity analysis. It streams the response in real-time so you can follow along.

PhantomCodeAI works on macOS (both Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4 and Intel) and Windows. It's compatible with all major interview platforms including HackerRank, CodeSignal, LeetCode, CoderPad, and any browser-based coding environment.

PhantomCodeAI supports Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, C#, Go, Rust, Ruby, Swift, and Kotlin. You can set your preferred language in settings and the AI will generate solutions in that language.

PhantomCodeAI offers flexible options: one-time credit packs (Starter $19, Basic $29, Power $39 — credits never expire), Monthly subscription at $49/month, and Yearly subscription at $199/year. All subscriptions include unlimited interview call credits while active.

Absolutely. PhantomCodeAI excels at solving LeetCode-style DSA problems. It provides optimal solutions with step-by-step approach explanations, time and space complexity analysis, and well-commented code — exactly what you'd present in an interview.

Yes. PhantomCodeAI handles system design (HLD), low-level design (LLD), database design, and SQL problems. For design questions, it uses a bottom-up approach: explaining key concepts, walking through the design step-by-step, and discussing trade-offs and scalability.

Yes — every new account gets free credits at signup, so you can run real sessions and see how PhantomCodeAI works before paying anything. When you're ready, paid plans start at $19 for a one-time Starter credit pack (credits never expire), with monthly and yearly subscriptions also available.

PhantomCodeAI offers several advantages: more affordable pricing with plans starting at $19, support for personalized AI prompts tailored to your experience level and target role, two AI modes — Deep Think for thorough analysis and Fast Think for quick answers — and a profile-aware system that adapts responses based on whether you're a student, job seeker, or professional.

Unlike Final Round AI which focuses broadly on all interview types, PhantomCodeAI is purpose-built for technical coding interviews. It provides specialized DSA solutions, system design breakdowns, and code-first responses optimized for software engineering interviews at FAANG and top tech companies.

UltraCode AI charges $899 for lifetime access with no monthly option. PhantomCodeAI offers flexible plans starting at $19 (one-time Starter credit pack), two AI modes (Deep Think + Fast Think) instead of a single mode, personalized prompts that adapt to your experience level, and a custom prompt manager. No need to gamble $899 upfront.

Parakeet AI is a general-purpose interview assistant that transcribes and answers HR/behavioral questions. PhantomCodeAI is purpose-built for coding interviews — it solves LeetCode/DSA problems, handles system design, generates optimal code in 11 languages, and runs as an undetectable desktop overlay instead of a browser-based web app.

Yes. PhantomCodeAI includes a Prompt Manager where you can create custom prompts to control how the AI responds. You can also set your user profile (student, job seeker, professional) and target role (software engineer, data scientist, etc.) — the AI automatically adapts its tone, depth, and focus based on your profile.

PhantomCodeAI offers two modes: Deep Think for thorough step-by-step analysis (great for system design and complex DSA), and Fast Think for quick, concise answers under time pressure. You can toggle between modes with one click depending on the situation.

We provide a refund if the tool is visible on the screen — that is, if PhantomCodeAI appears in your shared screen or recording during use. The issue must be reported within 24 hours of it occurring, with video evidence (a screen recording) showing the tool visible on the screen. Contact customer-care@phantomcodeai.com for refund requests, or raise a request from the chat bubble on the bottom right.

PhantomCodeAI is a legitimate software tool. Your data is processed securely, and we do not store your interview screenshots or problem content on our servers beyond the active session. All communication is encrypted.

Download the installer from our website for your platform (Mac ARM, Mac Intel, or Windows). Run the installer, sign in with your email, and you're ready to go. The entire setup takes less than 2 minutes.

Yes. PhantomCodeAI works seamlessly with online assessments (OAs) from HackerRank, CodeSignal, LeetCode, HackerEarth, and other platforms. Since it runs as an invisible overlay, it doesn't interfere with any browser-based assessment tools.

No. PhantomCodeAI is specifically designed to be undetectable. It doesn't show up in screen shares, screen recordings, Activity Monitor, or dock. It's click-through transparent, meaning interviewers cannot see or interact with it even if they look at your screen.
